Rocky's Drive-In

I was amazed. I left Guelph when I was 6, but we always tried to get back for a Rocky's dog when we were in town visiting. Since I've become an adult and moved further afield, I haven't been back for over 20 years.
On Saturday August 20, 2011 I made arrangements to meet with my folks for lunch at Rocky's.
My Dad is a recent amputee and is using a wheelchair while he learns how to use his new prosthetic leg. I went in to order and the fellow behind the counter (presumably the owner) asked if the guy sitting in the wheelchair in the parking lot was with me. I replied that he was. The owner immediately dispatched one of the cooks to bring a table and chairs down from the patio in a nice shaded spot so my folks, my wife, and I could have lunch.
The foot-long hotdogs were as good as I remember them, but that gesture of kindness will never be forgotten.

We'll definitely be back. Much sooner this time. Thanks for the great food and service.

If you like bad food and high prices, you'll love this place.

Have recently added a PULLED PORK on a BUN and POUTINE FRIES to the menu. The pork is so tender and moist, with just the right amount of cracked pepper and BBQ sauce. It should be labeled

Rocky's is a tradition for many more years to come. One true way that Guelphites now that spring is here is when they open and you sit out on the patio enjoying a great foot long hot dog.

Awesome Food!

My husband Ken Breese grew up eating, a must stop @ Rocky's when he was younger. When we got married he took me there. Excellent food and glad to now share in the tradition of Guelph

was at rockys this past summer and found the food was still great.the service by boo,rics right hand man was nothing short of amazing.thanks guys.ric and rockys is still the best.

Have been going to Rocky's since he was down the road on highway 7 back in 1958. Rocky always had a smile and a laugh whenever one went in. Dogs then were 25 cents, so even by today's inflated rate, it's not too bad. Now living out of Guelph for over 40 years, I still drop in at least once a year for a foot-long. Dogs still taste good to me, but the service leaves MUCH to be desired. Not a smile from the son (Rick?) or a comment other than the price. I know Rocky would be very disappointed to see his place run like it is.

Very over priced. $26 for 3 hot dogs 3 fries and 3 drinks (pop).

the hot dogs were the foot longs as promised but they were boiled, the fries were a super small portion.

I am new to Guelph and have been hearing the Rockys hype figured I would give it a try... never again

the hot dog cart at Canadian tire is wayyy better...

and on another note...when a customer walks in with 2 children and they are taking the child's order...dont roll your eyes as if we are taking up to much of your time... bad bad bad customer service

THE BEST place in the world for footlong hotdogs. I've sent 50+ non-Guelphites here and have yet to hear ONE person disagree...they are FANS!

I don't understand why everyone likes this place so much? I mean I understand tradition and childhood memories play a big role.
But seriously, are these hot dogs boiled? I was not impressed.
Get a grill in there or something.
I did enjoy the milkshake, but the dogs fell way short of the folklore.

Ever since the money hungry son (Ricky) took over the business the food portions got smaller and more expensive! The relish is not made the same, it has lost the great taste that made the dogs famous! Its a shame that a family business that was built on great taste and pride is failing because of greed and laziness! Grow up and get back to the basics the way Rocco would do it.

best drive in any where been going since I was a teenager

The homemade relish is to die for...... the footlong hotdogs are so juicy, the shakes are awesome!!!(especially chocolate) This drive-in is my craving 3 seasons of the year, because in the winter it's closed. Any ways, cheers and 5 stars to rocky's!!!!!

A disapointing experience. Took a friend there only to be embarassed. The cheeseburger was barely there. I have never seen a beef patty so skinny and slim and small in my life. The tomatoes slice was the size of a loonie, and the milkshake was not thick at all. Poor and skimpy all around. We paid $17 for dinner for 2 and walked away hungry. Small portions. Not impressed. I used to take the kids there years ago, but stopped. Thought I'de give it another chance and man-o-man, they are still the same skimpy over priced hot dog stand. Boo on Rocky's!

The foot long hotdogs and milkshakes are the best I have ever eaten.

Rocky's has the most amazing relish for their footlong hotdogs, the same never changing since I was a kid over 30 years ago! I have searched and searched and never found anywhere else that serves it.
You haven't lived until you have had a Rocky's footlong with the 'works'!
I have travelled all overeven having no more ties in Guelph, I still come back for Rocky's...YUM
